Submit Your Comment on EPA's Heavy-Duty Vehicle Standards
Transportation is the #1 source of carbon pollution in the United States, which has detrimental effects on our health, communities, and Shared Home. The national rule that limits pollution from heavy duty vehicles, like trucks and buses, is up for revision right now. Strong clean truck standards will help ensure that our nation's fleet of heavy-duty vehicles become more fuel-efficient while reducing carbon pollution.
We have a moral obligation to cut carbon emissions and other pollutants that harm our health and our communities. While EPA's proposed rule is a step in the right direction, federal and manufacturer investments and state ACT (Advanced Clean Trucks) adoption all support more stringent standards than what has been initially proposed. Therefore, these standards need to be at least the strongest of the alternatives proposed by the EPA.
The EPA needs to use these standards to rapidly accelerate the transition to electric trucks and put our nation’s medium and heavy-duty vehicles on a pathway to 100% zero-emission vehicles by 2035!
