Please take a moment to write to your Senators today. Below is the template email to your members of Congress. Feel free to edit the letter on the next page before you send it, personalized letters are more effective.
Dear Senator/Representative,
As a person of faith and conscience, I believe in being a good steward of the Earth and caring for all Creation. Right now, we’re in a race against time to avert a looming wildlife extinction crisis. Congress must act to provide dedicated funding for state-led efforts to restore habitat, help wildlife at risk, and protect communities.
The bipartisan Recovering America’s Wildlife Bill provides historic levels of funding for wildlife conservation for states, tribes and territories through proactive collaboration on the ground.
$1.3 billion from this bill will be spent by state fish and wildlife agencies, in partnership with state-based conservation entities. The state agencies will use the money to implement their State Wildlife Action Plan, which incorporates science and public input and are approved by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. This bill also represents one of the best opportunities to begin addressing the historical underfunding of Tribal wildlife management by providing $97 million to tribal nations.
The bill would also create as many as 33,600 direct jobs every year, in fields such as heavy equipment operation, construction, landscaping, horticulture, forestry, engineering, while also supporting 100,000 additional jobs annually and will boost the outdoor recreation economy.
Please vote yes on the Recovering America’s Wildlife Bill to protect our at-risk wildlife!
Sincerely,
Congress is closer than ever to passing the most significant wildlife conservation legislation in a half-century. Tell your Senators to pass The Recovering America’s Wildlife Act that will invest $1.4 billion in proactive, collaborative conservation efforts to address the wildlife crisis. The bill has passed the House and now needs to pass the Senate.
